Blooming Botanical Explorations: Explore a peaceful escape at the Denver Botanic Gardens with wheelchair-accessible paths winding through diverse plant collections and thematic gardens, offering a serene experience. Their Therapeutic Horticulture Programs provide accessible and engaging opportunities for individuals with disabilities to connect with nature in a nurturing environment.
Tranquil Waterside Retreats: Visit the Aurora Reservoir with us. This tranquil spot provides accessible nature trails and picnic areas, perfect for a relaxed outdoor adventure and enjoying the simplicity of nature.
Green Path Adaptive Nature Trails: Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature on our Adaptive Nature Trails. These trails are designed for accessibility, allowing individuals using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids to explore the outdoors comfortably. Gravity’s Edge: Get ready to soar through the air and defy gravity at a Trampoline Park! Jump into excitement and laughter as Explorers experience the thrill of bouncing on wall-to-wall trampolines, challenging gravity in a safe and inclusive environment. Whether you’re a seasoned jumper or trying it for the first time you’ll have an exhilarating and unforgettable adventure.
Hole-in-one Putt-Putt: Experience the magic of miniature! Our course features wheelchair-accessible paths and imaginative, easy-to-navigate holes designed for fun first. Each hole offers a unique challenge with gentle slopes and vibrant themes, ensuring a delightful experience.
All-Star Batting Cages: Step up to the plate at batting cages! Featuring adjustable pitch speeds and heights, it’s the perfect place to practice your swing. Look out Colorado Rockies, here we come!
Adventure Anglers Fishing Docks: Enjoy a relaxing day of fishing with features like wheelchair-accessible platforms so that everyone can participate in this serene outdoor activity. The docks are situated in stocked ponds, ensuring a rewarding fishing experience for anglers of all skill levels.
Professional Sporting Events: Get your Game On! Vital Choice will work with individuals who wish to attend sporting events based on ticket and staff availability. Ticket prices and seating arrangements will be determined when tickets are sought and purchased. Vital Choice Sports Fans have attended several sporting events, and we strive to do as much of this as possible. Requested events include the Colorado Rockies (MLB); Colorado Avalanche; Denver Nuggets (NBA); and Denver Broncos (NFL).
Shop and Learn: We tour stores in our area to offer participants firsthand experience in shopping, budgeting, and making healthy, practical, and budget-friendly choices.
Post Office Discovery: We partner with local post offices like the Aurora Central Post Office and Denver Downtown Post Office to offer educational workshops and guided tours. Participants engage in activities to learn about mailing letters, understanding postage costs, and utilizing basic postal services.
Banking and Budgeting Workshop: We collaborate with banks and credit unions to learn basic banking, budgeting, automatic teller skills, and how to keep your money safe.
Culinary Exploration: Our cooking and nutrition classes teach kitchen safety, basic cooking skills, food safety, and nutrition essentials. We ensure that individuals with disabilities and special dietary needs can fully participate and enjoy the learning experience.
Home Care Essentials: We teach home care skills such as housekeeping, laundry, and organization skills to foster independence, pride in one’s home, and self-sufficiency.
Social Skills Salon: We foster social skills development that empowers you to build meaningful connections and enhance your communication skills. We engage in interactive activities and practice effective communication techniques in a supportive setting.
Personal Care Mastery Bootcamp: We teach essential skills related to body care, dental hygiene, grooming, and maintaining clean attire. Participants learn how these practices contribute to overall health and well-being, fostering a sense of cleanliness and vitality. Through practical guidance and support, individuals gain the confidence and ability to manage their personal care independently, promoting dignity and self-sufficiency.
Public Transportation Training: Through collaboration with RTD (Regional Transportation District), we provide public transportation training. Participants learn about bus routes, schedules, and safety protocols at locations like the Colfax at Peoria RTD Station and Aurora Metro Center.
Safe Public Navigation and Personal Safety Plans: We work with organizations such as The Arc of Aurora and Safehouse Denver to deliver workshops on personal safety and help-seeking strategies. These workshops equip participants with the skills and knowledge to navigate public spaces safely and develop personal safety plans.
Bicycle Riding Lessons: *Coming Soon* We are working to partner with organizations like Adaptive Adventures, and the City of Aurora Recreation Division and YMCA to offer learn-to-ride cycling programs. Participants will have access to appropriate bikes, trained instructors, and accessible facilities for learning to ride safely with friends.
